A year ago this week, two things of note happened.

First, the site turned three, meaning it is now four years old. So, congratulations to me…I guess.

The second thing that occurred was Acrania announced its plans to release a debut record called Totalitarian Dystopia.

In the last year, two things have happened. First, I have grown exceedingly disgusted with corporate metal sites while earning zilch for my fucking efforts.

With this site, I literally make not even a quarter of what I’d actually need to clear in order to justify the time and expense I dump into it. Some days, I wish I’d never started it, because frankly, I feel like no one gives a fuck about it anymore. This makes me wilt.

Second, Arcania has released no new information about a record, or a record, for that matter.

Things change, though. I could end up saying “Fuck it” and deleting the site from the ether.

And Totalitarian Dystopia might actually come out now on August 19 through Unique Leader.

The 10-track set features a number of guest appearances, including I Declare War frontman Jamie Hanks, Lorna Shore vocalist Tom Barber and Aborted guitarist Mendel Bij De Leij.
