Hits Daily Double is reporting that avid golfer Alice Cooper will finally get his due, by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame March 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan.
The article claims that — at the 26th annual induction ceremony — Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love will also be named to the hall. The inductees will be formally announced December 15.
Unfortunately, that means acts like Bon Jovi, Beastie Boys, Donovan, and LL Cool J — who were all on the nominations ballot — apparently did not garner enough votes to earn a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this go-around.
Alice has been eligible for more than 15 years, and issued a brief statement about the Rock Hall honors, saying, “on behalf of Dennis (Dunaway), Neal (Smith), Michael (Bruce) and the late great Glen (Buxton), we are honored to be nominated for induction in to the Hall. Anytime you are nominated in your chosen profession, it’s definitely a compliment to be recognized.”
