You know, I learned two things about All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte today.
First, I learned he’s a former Marine, which is rad. I don’t think he publicizes that tidbit. Second, I learned he’s gotten married within the last few months.
On October 25, All That Remains took part in a meet-and-greet at the Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
During that visit, Labonte told the folks there he was briefly in the Corps.
“I don’t rate,” he said in an interview. “There are Marines out there who have done some real things. My wife is a Marine. She has deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. She’s done all the real stuff. I don’t count.”
See? He says he has a wife. That’s news to me.
Our former columnist Duff McKegles early on in the site’s history wrote a column about Phil’s hot-asstastic ex. So that means Phil’s gotten hitched within the last two years.
“The military is voluntary,” said Labonte. “It makes the commitment more valuable. We were at war for the past 10 years. People don’t join just for college anymore. [Service members] definitely have my support.”
