That’s right, you overzealous scissor bandit.
Reports claim Finnish melancholic hard rock act Amorphis will enter a recording studio next month to start work on a new record.
The impending effort — the band’s eleventh studio album — will be in stores in the spring of 2013.
The album has no title just yet, but does have a producer: the very well-known Peter Tägtgren, who has previously worked with the likes of Celtic Frost, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, and Children of Bodom, among a host of others.
The initial sessions will take place at Petrax studios in Hollola, Finland. The band will use other studios to complete the tracking.
“We wanted to approach the recording sessions in a completely new way and we decided to hire a producer to oversee the project from start to finish,” says Amorphis guitarist Esa Holopainen.
The new album will follow The Beginning of Times, which came out in 2011 on Nuclear Blast Records.
