You know, it wasn’t that long ago that Chris Adler of Lamb of God told me the band had turned down a stint on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem festival in favor of something else.
Now, we know what that something else is, thanks to MetalInjection. It’ll be a Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem cruise, with Machine Head, Suicide Silence, and Anthrax.
I’m assuming Lamb of God will headline. Even though I despise this cruise trend, I may be able to get behind this floating feast of debauchery.
“We’re going to do our own tour and try to put something together,” Adler told us months ago.
“There are a couple of bands out there we’ve wanted to tour with for a long time and haven’t had the opportunity. We have gotten to a point now where obviously, we need to take that next step and get to the next level as a band. We can’t step backwards with this record and take out four bands no one’s ever heard of. We have to do the right thing for us, but at the same time, there is a lot of interest in the band in doing what we think is kind of the right thing to do, and working with bands like Gojira and Meshuggah and Periphery and stuff that we would all like too. It’s hard to make sense of that sometimes, but the current goal is to make some sense out of something like that.”
More bands will be announced for the cruise soon.
