By now, you’ve probably heard that the Times of Grace debut, The Hymn of a Broken Man, has leaked online. A really low-quality version of the disc, I will have you know. Jesse Leach — who fronts the band and writes a column for this site — took to Facebook to vent about the leak, which you should avoid. Why? Because it’s the cool thing to do. AND because this coming Friday, you’ll be able to hear it all the way through…the way it was meant to be heard.
Starting January 14 at 4 p.m. EST, the album will be streamable over at ArtistDirect. It should be streaming here, at GSA, but you can’t win them all.
The album hits stores on January 18, and you should totally buy it the day it comes out and give Times of Grace a top 10 debut. The album will be streaming through Monday, January 17. So listen to it often this weekend. You won’t regret it.
I have heard The Hymn of a Broken Man and it is everything you thought it would be and more. Riffs galore, Jesse’s soaring and simultaneously-crushing vocals, and an atmospheric, moody vibe. The musicianship is fucking phenomenal and this record will definitely be in heavy rotation in your iPod. By the way, go to the top of this page, and on the righthand side, sign up for the Gun Shy Assassin Newsletter and be entered to win an autographed copy of The Hymn of a Broken Man. No?
