You know, a reader raised an interesting point with me recently — one I had completely spaced on.
Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying has launched a shameless Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for a new album by his pointless side project Austrain Death Machine.
The dude OWNS a studio. So I am sort of at a loss for what he needs the crowd funds for.
Anyways, that’s neither here nor there as the misses would say.
Lambesis is said to be working on a “heavier and more traditionally metal” band called Pyrithion.
So is that an admission, then, that As I Lay Dying’s not that heavy anymore? Because that’d be pretty cool of Tim. It’d be like, “Good. At least he knows.”
Allegaeon guitarist Ryan Gilsan and ex-Embodyment and The Famine guitarist Andrew Godwin are also in the group.
A debut EP called The Burden Of Sorrow will be out in mid-April through Metal Blade with a full-length following later in the year.
