That’s right, you crucifix-bearing freaks.
San Diego metal merchants As I Lay Dying have been working on a new record, and today, announced the LP’s producer.
Bill Stevenson — known for his drum work with the Descendents and Black Flag — will be producing the new album, which will be tracked in May.
The album is expected to be released in the second half of 2012, a press release says.
I wonder if the album will be ready in time for this summer and the fifth annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
I doubt it. But one can wonder.
When was the last time As I Lay Dying blew your mind? For me, it was 2003…Frail Words Collapse. That record can not be fucked with.
I feel that maybe Bill’s influence could be a very good thing for this band. Short songs, man…that’s what it’s all about. Short. Unless you’re a prog metal band, keep ‘em short and vicious.
