Listen. The bottom line with me is, metal is my favorite type of music.
But not all moods, encounters, or occasions call for the heavy stuff, you dig? Like, when a woman comes over to your home for drinks and a chat, you don’t wanna put on Cannibal Corpse or Anal Cunt.
Instead, you wanna set a nice vibe…one conducive to lovin’ and one that won’t scare her off. Sure, you could throw on Purson or Ghost…something mellow. But me? I am not ashamed to say I go with Portishead, Esthero, or Mazzy Star when I want to get down to the business of getting down to business.
I bring you this news because, as far as I’m concerned, metal heads are more open-minded than most music fans, and some of you — while you may not admit it — will no doubt be slightly interested in the fact that Mazzy Star are touring and have a new album coming out.
At least I know I am not the only metal head pumped for Mazzy Star’s return.
“Oh holy shit mother of fuck,” writes Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation on his Facebook page.
“I had NO idea! Best news since finding out Death in June were coming back to LA…new track, album coming and everything! Fuck yes, I’m so stoked! This sounds like they never even stopped!!!!!!”
Listen to the following song, especially if your chick is nearby. She’ll be impressed and maybe give you some afternoon delight.
I love Mazzy Star. I am stoked as well, Travis.
