This, my friends, according to The PRP. Let me just admit this outright. This post is going up at 8 p.m. on a Monday because shit was slow today and I wanted to get this gif of Katy Perry up on the site. I wish she’d leave Russell Brand, kiss me, and like it. But no. Man. I would motorboat my way across the motherfucking Atlantic with those things. I can’t wait for five years from now, when she’s nobody, and gets an offer she can’t refuse from Playboy.
So, yeah — Atreyu, a band I’ve never liked, is covering a song I have always loved by Aerosmith. The song is “Livin’ On The Edge,” and I can not explain why I love the song so much but I do. I love the guitars and the cannon-mocking drums. The song is the best thing the band’s done since Steven Tyler started parading his daughter around in frilly underwear, turning her into a boner magnet.
The compilation EP — called Covers of the Damned — is being prepared to coincide with Atreyu’s upcoming “Congregation of the Damned Tour.” And here I thought they’d be covers of songs by The Damned. That would have been waaaaay cooler.
The album will also feature Blessthefall, Chiodos, Architects, and Endless Hallway covering tracks by the Deftones, Thin Lizzy, The Dead Kennedys and Volbeat…likely in that order, too. Below is a video promoting the release.
