That’s right, motherfuckers!
Montreal progressive death metal outfit Augury have announced the return of former members Dominic Lapointe and Etienne Gallo.
That means the band’s original lineup has been revived. Officially.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of [bassist] Dominic ‘Forest’ Lapointe and [drummer] Étienne Gallo to Augury,” the band says in a statement.
“The writing process has begun with all the original members, and the band is focused 100% on the new album. We wish to thank Antoine Baril, Christian Pacaud, and Sébastien Pittet, for their loyal services and for the incredible help they’ve been to the band, as well as live musicians Tommy McKinnon and Robin Stone,” the statement continues.
“The time has come for Augury to birth a new interplanetary opus, faithful to the original spirit of the group, which made its reputation with its two first albums, Concealed and Fragmentary Evidence.”
That’s a fancy way of saying they’re working on new shit.
This is good news indeed. Any fans of Augury out there? Let us know on Facebook. We’re curious. Not bi-curious — curious about your interest in Augury. We’re Augury-curious.
