So…you like the black metal, do ya? What a coincidence — so do we. And today folks, we’ve got something real special for you. It’s French black metal act Aurvandil and an exclusive song stream just for you, that you’ll only hear at Gun Shy Assassin. Cause we roll like that, fool. We love black metal, no matter where it’s from…so long as it’s got devastating guitars (which “End of an Age” most certainly has) that shift into acoustic mode on occasion, and menacing-but-not-overhwhelming vocals that go beyond the “someone just slit my throat while I was choking on a Twinkie” norm that you get with, uhm, shitty black metal.
Would we support shitty black metal? You know the answer to that, friends. Go to the end of this very post and you can stream this exclusive new track. Bang your head, turn that cross upside down, light some candles, find a sword, and rock the fuck out, you beast. Aurvandil — hear it, after the jump.
Of course, “End of an Age” comes from Aurvandil’s new debut album, Yearning, which is in stores now. Listen to the track and tell us what you think of it in the comments section below, or over on our Facebook page. It’s so easy to follow us on Facebook…why won’t you just follow us on Facebook?
According to a press release, the album “stands as a cold, harsh manifest of what once was, an ode to spite and a reflection of somber, melancholic hatred.”
