A new piece over at Noisey claims Austrian Death Machine’s crowdfunded album Triple Brutal is not as charitable a release as touted.
The World Vision Charity, the beneficiary of a portion of the album’s sales, has not yet received word from the band or leader Tim Lambesis.
It was announced not that long ago that Artery Recordings picked up the album and that royalties from it would be going towards the charity.
The album has been out just a week, so maybe the charity will be contacted in a few weeks or some shit.
Said the charity’s senior communications officer Sheryl Watkins:
“With artists and other celebrities we require thorough vetting before entering into partnerships. Unfortunately, in this case neither Mr. Lambesis or the band approached World Vision before stating that proceeds of the record would benefit us. Regrettably, we’ve found over the years that individuals and businesses will make that claim, and not follow through. Our legal department is currently looking at the band’s website to determine our next steps.”
