I saw this posted a bunch of times yesterday in my newsfeed, but didn’t read it until today.
For some reason, this site ran an underwhelming story titled “What Happened When Axl Rose Rented My Apartment.” With that title, you’re thinking Axl must’ve been a nightmare — a horrible tenant with demands galore.
Not so. And that’s where the story gets boring.
The writer, Steve Fishman, recalls how the Guns N’ Roses frontman was looking for a place three years ago, and ended up renting his apartment in TriBeCa.
The article claims Rose came to see the 5,300-square-foot place twice, saying he was looking for an apartment without a lot of “glaring” sunlight.
Fishman’s wife said one time she was there when he visited, and Rose “played enthusiastically with our dog.”
Miss Lippy’s car is green.
The rent was high, and in short, Axl never returned to the space.
He paid his rent on time each month, but never lived there.
“People have mixed views of Axl Rose, but as a landlord, I loved him. If he ever needs a recommendation, I’ll happily write: Quiet, undemanding, and pays his rent,” writes Fishman.
