Behemoth Frontman Sick, All Shows Cancelled

Behemoth’s Nergal

We here at Gun Shy Assassin wish Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski well. Apparently, the man is in a hospital in Northern Poland where he is being treated for an undisclosed illness.

And it must be one hell of an illness. All of Behemoth’s upcoming shows — including the U.S. dates with Watain — have been cancelled. According to a personal online post from Nergal, he claims his disease can be treated in multiple stages but that it could take up to “several months” to complete said treatment. He asks that fans be patient and said he has a “rather difficult period” ahead of him. This is a bummer, man. I hope Nergal’s going to be alright. Pissed I’m going to miss those Watain shows now. Fuck.

Reports claim that the leader of the black metal was rushed to the Gdansk Medical University Hospital to receive treatment for an undisclosed illness. According to Nergal’s girlfriend’s manager, Nergal had been ill for “several days.” Other unsubstantiated reports claim he was taken to the hospital’s hematology division — the division that deals with blood and diseases of the blood.

An official statement is expected Monday (August 9).
