Behemoth’s Nergal Undergoes Bone Marrow Transplant

Nergal of Behemoth

In what may be the first step in his full recovery, Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski has undergone what I’m hoping will be a life-saving bone marrow transplant. The 33-year-old metaller is said to be doing well after the procedure.

For those who’ve been living under a rock the last year, Nergal was diagnosed with leukemia some months ago, and recently revealed that a genetic donor match had been found and that he would soon be getting that much-needed transplant.

According to reports, Nergal will spend the next four weeks in an isolation room at the hematology division of Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne (UCK) in Gdansk to avoid any infection while his immune system is compromised.

It would be great if 2011 started off with some good news, for a change. Like, Nergal will make a full recovery, his leukemia will go into remission, and he will get to work with the band on a new Behemoth record that will be out by year’s end. Now that, my fine feathered friends, would be some good fucking news right there. The only news that would be better — at least to my mind — would be news of leaked, nude photos of Nergal’s dope-ass Polish pop star girlfriend.

A boy can dream, can’t he?
