This was bound to happen eventually.
I mean, there is Behemoth and then, there is Nergal.
Adam Darski has become as big if not bigger than Behemoth as a persona. After all, back in Poland, he was a judge on that country’s version of “The Voice” and is the spokesman for a line of energy drinks. Nergal doing some solo work had to happen at some point.
That point is now.
Nergal says in a new interview that he’s been working on a solo project that’s “very stripped down and simple. The most primitive, acoustic-based stuff. That’s what I’m really into.”
Don’t you just love it when a dude who makes crushing, devastating, devilish music that you can’t get enough of confides that metal’s really not his thing? I guess you can do a job and not necessarily love it, but in a way, it’s kind of disappointing, no?
“I’m always creating,” Nergal continued. “I always do stuff on the side, and some of it’s not suitable for Behemoth, and I’ve got some other projects that will eventually see the light of day. Or not. Nothing is for certain! [laughs]”
Nergal also said there are no immediate plans for Behemoth’s next LP
