Benefit Planned For Early Graves’ Makh Daniels

Makh Daniels

You never want to start off the week with bad news. But this week, it was unavoidable. Early Graves frontman Makh Daniels was killed in a van accident in Oregon when the driver of the vehicle fell asleep, lost control of the van, sending it flipping.

Daniels, sadly, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene; he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time.

All week, this news has been fucking with my head. Makh was awesome and a super nice guy in person. I’ve been trying to ignore the truth and hence, held off on posting this information yesterday. But it is for a good cause, so here we go. An effort has been undertaken to help raise funds for Makh’s family and if you can support this cause, please do.

“A benefit and memorial show has been planned for Makh Daniels, vocalist of Early Graves, who tragically passed away on Monday in a van accident, while on tour in Oregon,” reads a press release on the benefit. “Everyone is encouraged to come and show support for someone who dedicated his life to touring and the metal scene, and help his family with the costs involved with this tragedy. All proceeds from the door and a percentage of profits from the bar will be donated to Makh’s family.”

That’s awesome. Antagonist, Exhausted Prayer, Destroy Judas, and two other bands will be playing the benefit, set for this Friday, August 6, at the Bamboo Lounge in Whittier, California.
