Remember when that concert for New York happened in December, and I kept hinting that I thought Led Zeppelin would be getting back together for it?
Well, I wasn’t just talking out of my ass. I had actually heard something about a reunion happening at the show. I can’t tell you how, but I heard.
Now, it seems former President Bill Clinton, reports “60 Minutes,” tried and failed to get Led Zeppelin to reunite for the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Zeppelin passed on the offer, according to the news piece, which largely focused on the Robin Hood Foundation, which put the superstar fundraiser together.
Robin Hood Foundation’s executive director David Saltzman said Clinton asked the band personally in Washington, D.C., when they were being saluted with the prestigious Kennedy Center honor, to reform.
“Harvey Weinstein had this great idea that we could enlist Bill Clinton who could convince Led Zeppelin to reunite to perform at the 12-12-12 concert,” he said. “Bill Clinton himself asked Led Zeppelin to reunite and they wouldn’t do it.”
