Man, this is going to be interesting.
What drummer would want this gig at this point? I mean, I’m sure every drummer has dreamed of having this gig at some point. But all the Bill Ward love and support that followed in the wake of the news he wouldn’t be participating in the Black Sabbath reunion would have me shaking in my boots.
I can’t think of one drummer who would want the gig. I’m assuming it’s going to be one of the guys who has played with Ozzy recently — probably Tommy Clufetos. I might not mind if its Mike Bordin.
A statement from Black Sabbath reads: “We have decided not to make any detailed comment on Bill‘s latest statement. There are two sides to every story. We have been working hard at rehearsals making excellent progress after Tony‘s treatments and we have engaged a substitute drummer for the forthcoming shows. See you at Download.”
This is bad on so many levels. It’s bad for metal, its bad for the Black Sabbath legacy. Just bad.
