The other day, I jokingly alluded to the fact that Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through was probably too high to perform with the band after having his wisdom teeth yanked.
I said this because usually, after undergoing such a procedure, they dope you up, and numb the constant pain of such trauma. Of course, Brandan’s straight-edge, which makes it more hilarious to me that such a backlash followed my last piece.
Now the band’s pulled out of its tour with Demon Hunter entirely.
“As you all know, Brandan had to undergo and emergency orthodontic surgery day before yesterday,” says the band. “Due to the severity of his procedure and upon [doctor’s] orders, he has been advised not to perform as to not further increase the painful situation he has found himself in.
“To anyone who has had this done, then you know if it is complicated how painful it can be. He is recovering well and we will do make-up dates for the shows we are missing,” the band promises.
“We all express our most heartfelt apology to Demon Hunter, Cancer Bats, Willows, and The Plot In You.
“To anyone who bought tickets, to those who will miss this and still go, and to the ones that will be pissed, trust me, we are sorry and appreciate your understanding. See you all soon!”
Whatever. The world will continue to spin.
