Toronto-based occult rockers Blood Ceremony have revealed in a press release that their sophomore LP, Living with the Ancients, will be in stores March 1 via Rise Above Records and Metal Blade.
According to aforementioned press release, Living with the Ancients “expands on the sound cultivated by the quartet with its critically-celebrated self-titled debut which was released in 2008.”
If you’re into flute-tinged “witch rock,” and why wouldn’t you be, then you should probably check this band out. They even have a chick amid their ranks; she plays the flute — duh! I wonder when she’ll get the Revolver treatment. Can’t always feature the same bushel of babes, after all.
The band started working on this disc “after a mind-numbing study of hundreds of witchcraft-themed films. The new one was recorded in Chicago with Sanford Parker (Zoroaster, Yakuza) and “displays a noticeable growth in the band’s songwriting skill and a strong musical maturity. Wider influences from obscure areas can be heard fluctuating beyond the more obvious comparisons associated their aforementioned debut.”
