Burn Reunion To Feature Glassjaw Drummer

Band featuring Orange 9mm frontman to perform next month in New York City



New York hardcore legends Burn will be reuniting for a set at this year’s Black N’ Blue Bowl.

Somehow, I overlooked this factoid when the lineup was revealed. I was probably too distracted to make the connection.

Burn has been rather silent since the early 1990s, when lead singer Chaka Malik left to forge Orange 9mm, a band I was fucking way into, and their drummer, Alan Cage, turned his focus full-time to Quicksand.

Burn’s set is scheduled to take place May 17 at Webster Hall in New York.

Malik will be joined by Burn guitarist Gavin Van Vlack for the live gig, with former bassist Manny Carrero (currently, a member of Glassjaw) and current Glassjaw drummer Durjah Lang behind the kit.
