It was only a matter of time before seminal Brooklyn metal act Candiria started working on new shit, and, from what guitarist John Lamachhia’s saying, they’re going to start recording that shit soon. They’ve even got Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle fame lending his talents to the new disc.
The band’s got a new lineup, and they’re actually looking to release the new stuff this spring, if you can believe that. Nice turnaround, Candiria! And if you do not know this band, you need to go out and get some of their old shit because Candiria were an important band in the late 1990s, and they have had quite an influence on a number of bands you probably would suck the cocks of.
Lamacchia recently posted the news to his Rising Pulse record label’s Blogspot, and says the band will be working at Jupiter4 Studios in Rockaway Park, New York.
“This month, Candiria will be in Jupiter4 Studios laying down drum tracks for a spring 2011 release. Ken Schalk will be behind the kit, Carley Coma [will be] vocalizing, John LaMacchia [on guitar] and Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle/Fantomas will be playing some guest bass guitar on a few tracks. That’s all for now.. more news coming soon.”
