Candlemass Ink Deal With Napalm Records For Farewell LP

Swedish doom legends Candlemass have signed a new deal with Napalm Records.

The band is said to be working on material for its farewell album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2012 release.

“Now it is official, Swedish doom ‘meisters’ Candlemass have signed with Austrian Napalm Records for their 11th and last studio album,” the band said in a statement.

That’s cool. I, too, often refer to myself in the third person. Especially in press releases. “All around amazing dude Chris Harris, also known to some teenage girls as Captain Curvecock…”

“The band is very happy and excited about this and are looking forward to work with such a great and growing label as Napalm, home of cool bands like Monster Magnet, Karma To Burn and Isole.”

Candlemass have been together more than 25 years, so I guess it makes sense to say goodbye. Not that you’ll be terribly missed. There are so many fucking bands out there these days. Thanks for making room for some new blood.

And no, the caption is not a typo. That was intentional.
