In 2010, Dutch black metal act Carach Angren released an impeccable record called Death Came Through A Phantom Ship.
If you’ve never heard that record, now’s your chance. We are exclusively streaming the disc in its entirety at the end of this post.
Conceptual in nature, the disc recounts the gruesome events that unfolded at sea after a captain and his crew encountered a ghost ship out on the dark deep ocean.
A host of nautical details including the hint of a shanty choir reveal the masterful craftsmanship Carach Angren have employed on the making of this concept album and the impressive development of their skills.
Season of Mist’s reissue of the out-of-print album will include new recordings of two tracks from their much sought after Ethereal Veiled Existence EP and one from the demo The Chase Vault Tragedy.
If you’re familiar with the disc, listen to it again, and let us know how awesome we are for streaming it for you.
Listen. You may just discover you love black metal from the Netherlands.
