So, yeah — that band Caspian have signed a new deal with Triple Crown Records, but I have to tell you. I am watching a documentary about marijuana on H2 — that’s History Channel’s evil doppelgänger, for those of you who don’t watch TV as often as I do.
They were just showing footage from the 1980s of the Just Say No campaign. Whatever happened to that?
What do they tell kids nowadays? What’s the approach? I’m just curious. Not that I think drug prevention campaigns work. Because they don’t. I just need a good laugh.
Caspian are said to be readying their new full-length album Waking Season for a fall release through the label.
The band co-produced the new once with the legendary Matt Bayles.
And guess what — the album will feature vocals!
“We wanted to shake things up and work in a different type of environment — the kind of environment where it wasn’t just us calling the shots all the time,” says guitarist/keyboardist Philip Jamieson.
“Working with someone who had the credibility to challenge the way we heard the songs outside of our own bubbles was extremely important to us for this record.
Matt has a way of pulling the pieces together to make them sound crystal clear, sharp and balanced without removing any raw energy from a track. Working with him was a humbling and enlightening experience and we feel like it really benefited the album.”
The band plan to tour extensively this fall.
