I am an avid supporter of the notion that you need to be an informed consumer. Before I purchase a record (which I do so rarely, given most albums arrive in my e-mail regularly — even pop records), I need to hear it. So do yourself a favor.
Before you go out to your local record store to grab Cavalera Conspiracy’s new disc, Blunt Force Trauma (in stores March 29), go listen to the album at this location. But be quick…the stream is limited and will end in a few days.
Cavalera Conspiracy features Max and Igor Cavalera, in case you just got into metal this week. The band’s lineup also includes guitarist Marc Rizzo of Soulfly and bassist Johnny Chow.
The new disc sounds like their old stuff. If you like Sepultura, you’ve probably already downloaded the record off of the internet.
The CD version of the album boasts a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Electric Funeral” and the vinyl version additionally includes a cover of Black Flag’s “Six Pack.” I really want to hear those covers. Too bad they’re not streaming too.
