I didn’t remember vaporizer-abusing Colorado grindcore outfit Cephalic Carnage losing any members. Not officially, anyways. But it seems long-running guitarist Zac Joe left the band not too long ago, and of course, a Google search didn’t turn up anything as to the why. But on Monday, Cephalic revealed that there’s some new blood in the camp: a guy named Brian Hopp has taken over on guitar.
According to the band’s statement on the lineup shift, Hopp has “a really sweet bow and arrow, and his guitar playing is almost as good as his archery.”
Cephalic are “extremely pleased with his work on the new record, and we think you will be too. Come tickle his chin and give him a pinch on Summer Slaughter!”
Oh yes, Cephalic have a new album on the way called Misled By Certainty, and from what I’ve heard, the album’s going to be dastardly. The LP lands in stores on August 31 through Relapse Records.
