Today is Richard Christy’s birthday.
Happy birthday Rich! We wish you many, many more…and pray for many, many more albums from Charred Walls of the Damned, your rad-as-fuck band.
Christy — known for his drumming in Death, Iced Earth, and Control Denied — will enter the studio before the end of the year to begin recording Charred Walls’ third full-length CD.
You can expect that album to drop this time next year.
“I have eight new songs written for the next Charred Walls of the Damned album and it is sounding so crushing!,” Richard tells Noisecreep.
“I’m hoping that we’ll get into the studio later this year, probably in the winter because I love going to Audiohammer Studios in Florida when the weather is cold and miserable up north here,” he says.
I wanna go, I wanna go! In fact, I wish I were at Jason Suecof’s compound now.
I’d have a lot to discuss with the studio’s current residents, Black Dahlia Murder, who are finishing their new one.
“I recorded the drums for Cold Winds On Timeless Days in Miami, Florida, in December 2010 during a massive blizzard in New York City and it felt so good to not only be playing metal but also to get the hell away from the cold,” says the birthday boy.
Charred Walls of the Damned also boasts Suecof on guitars, Steve DiGiorgio of Testament, and Tim “Ripper” Owens.
