It’s been five months since we first learned of Palms, a new band featuring Chino Moreno of the Deftones and three — count ‘em, three — former members of Isis: Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide.
Since April, I’ve been thinking about what Palms will sound like, and I can’t even imagine. I’m hoping it slightly resembles Isis, because I had a dream once, a long time ago, that Chino was the singer for Isis, and it was awesome.
Well, we’re getting closer and closer to actually Palms music, folks. Chino is in the studio, laying down vocals.
Harris took to the webernets this week to provide fans with an update on Palms’ ongoing progress.
“This week, I’m in the studio with Chino working on vocals for our debut Palms record,” Harris explains.
“It’s sounding really great and we’re all psyched. I’m just going to leave it at that and stay focused. Sorry to tease,” he concludes.
We like being teased. So long as there’s a happy ending, I’m all good.
