Like I said this morning with regard to the Sonisphere booking: Corey Taylor did Tweet the other day that “shows” were a possibility, but that an album was not on the immediate horizon. Now, Corey’s gone on Twitter to once again state his position on Slipknot’s current state of affairs.
“Yes, we are playing Sonisphere U.K. And a few [other festivals] to be announced,” Corey stated on Twitter. “Like I said: Shows? Yes. Album? No. Baby steps, people.”
The shows, Taylor says, are “for the fans. Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about the tour. But it’s for the fans, and for the family.”
But once again, people: There will be no new Slipknot music, despite Joey Jordison’s declaration to Billboard that there would be.
“We’ll see. I don’t know WHEN I’ll be ready to make an album. Might not be for years. But we will definitely play shows. We’ll see what happens.”
Anything could happen, right? Like, Slipknot could — theoretically — fire Corey if he keeps resisting the whole’s desire to record. But that would never happen, right? Wait, Corey said anything could happen. We shall see how this fucking drama continues to unfold.
