I totally forgot about a press release I got from the Metalsucks dudes about the next step in their bid for world domination: Metal Suckfest, which they’re putting together with Live Nation.
Cynic and Municipal Waste are the first bands to be revealed for the two-day festival, which will take over New York City’s Gramercy Theater on November 4 and November 5.
According to the press release, the fest will feature 20 bands, to be named over the coming weeks, so that they can stretch out interest in it for as long as possible. I kid.
Municipal Waste are scheduled to enter a recording studio later this month to begin tracking their fifth full-length record. That disc will drop in 2012. Meanwhile, Cynic are just awesome — hence, they will be closing out the Suckfest.
If you’re in New York, you should try to go to this.
Next year, I hope Gun Shy Assassin will be big enough to be able to do something similar. It’ll be called The Gun Shy Fish Fry and, at this point, it’ll have to go down in my parents backyard and likely feature Devin Townsend and the kid next door’s shitty band. More details soon.
