Dave Grohl Playing Sundance Gig

Dave Grohl

That’s right, folks.

Former Nirvana and current Them Crooked Vultures drummer Dave Grohl has announced he will be playing a super special gig during the Sundance Film Festival.

But he won’t be playing with his band Foo Fighters. Instead, he has assembled a band of musicians he’s calling the Sound City Players.

The show will celebrate the showing during Sundance of his documentary, “Sound City.”

Reports claim “core musicians and special guests” featured in “Sound City” are expected to take part in the January 18 concert.

Holy fuck. This has the potential to be fucking amazing, actually. Anyone live in Colorado with a comfy couch?

“Sound City” is a film homage to the defunct recording studio in Van Nuys, California, where bands like Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, Rage Against The Machine, Neil Young, and even Fleetwood Mac recorded some of their best material.

Guns N’ Roses also used the studio, as did Tom Petty, Cheap Trick and Nirvana.
