They’re from the Bay Area and they’re thrash. They’re called Death Angel and if you’re a regular here, you probably know about them and the new record they put out yesterday. It’s gritty, speedy, and pummeling — worth looking into.
The disc is called Relentless Retribution and was produced by the good Jason Suecof, who has helmed LPs by Trivium, The Black Dahlia Murder, and All That Remains. And while Jay’s work is always stellar, I understand the importance of being a thrifty consumer.
I guess Death Angel do too, since they’ve got two songs from the effort — “Truce” and “River of Rapture” — streaming on their MySpace page. “Truce” actually boasts a solo from Suecof, that musical mastermind.
The tracks are solid. I mean, its thrash and its well-produced. You’ll dig it. The disc features a dozen songs, including “Into The Arms Of Righteous Anger,” “Death of the Meek,” “Absence of Light,” and “Claws In So Deep,” on which acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela appear.
