If you never got a copy of Death Ray Vision’s first studio offering, you’re a lame-ass.
How could you pass up a band featuring three members of Overcast, fucking shit up like it’s 1990 and they’re a hardcore band in the L.E.S.
The band — formed by Mike D’Antonio of Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall’s Brian Fair — will see its debut EP reissued on vinyl, CD, and digitally on May 14.
Get Lost Or Get Dead is the first release through the band’s new partnership with Bullet Tooth.
“When Mike and I first met, we went to see Leeway and Breakdown play in Boston,” says Fair, who writes a column for us when he’s not too busy. “My love for raw, metallic hardcore began that day and the energy and insanity in that club is something that has stayed with me forever.”
The recording, which the band self released, “captured the raw energy and emotion of the band combined with a modern production, seamlessly bridging the gap between the past and future,” says a press release.
“We started the band to have fun, there is really no other reason to do Death Ray Vision,” states bassist Mike D. “Apparently we were having so much fun when we started writing for the 1st EP that we just kept writing and writing. All of a sudden, we had a crap load of tunes.”
Death Ray Vision have recently completed tracking for the new LP with producer Dean Baltulonis (Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front).
That album will be out this summer.
