This is a rather good note for me to end things today on.
The Deftones’ golden-throated frontman Chino Moreno has revealed the band is assembling a live vinyl release, which will chronicle the group’s entire career.
Moreno spoke of those plans on this past Thursday’s episode of the “Sixx Sense” radio show.
“The last week and a half I’ve been having to go through all these tapes,” Chino says.
“We’re putting out a live vinyl set…for every record, we’re going to put out like 4 or 5 songs from that time, that era,” Moreno explains.
Chino said he’s been going through tapes from 1996 as of late, “and they’re hard to listen to…Like seriously, I really feel we’ve gotten better as a band and me as a vocalist.”
I’d hope so. That was, like, more than 15 years ago.
But by the same token, 15 years ago, the Deftones were already fucking ten times better than most every band that came before and after them.
