I’ve been excited about this exclusive song stream for well over a month now, and finally got the green light to bring it you fine folks today.
If you like death metal the way it used to be, back when Morbid Angel were not a joke and Deicide were turning heads with every note, then you’d better send me a “Thank you” note, because I’m about to introduce you to a band called Derogatory.
Hailing from Los Angeles, these dudes are doing death metal right…the way it’s meant to be played, with extreme heart, extreme groove, and extreme prowess.
At the end of this post, you can listen to the longest track off of Derogatory’s debut offering, Above All Else.
The song is called “To Escape What Is Now,” and closes out the impressive effort, which releases December 6 on FDA Rekotz.
Pre-order information can be found here.
Derogatory is only three years old, and was founded by guitarists Christian Ordonez and Joe Viwatkurkul. They’ve seen three drummers come and go before current skins-basher Coyoton stepped in. The band’s rounded out by bassist Daniel Alonzo.
Check them out and try to tell me they’re not awesome. Just try.
