Could the music actually live up to the title? I doubt it. I don’t know…DevilDriver are just one of those bands I can’t get down with. They actually make me miss Coal Chamber, and no one misses Coal Chamber. Right?
Mark Lewis produced the forthcoming Beast, which drops February 22. Phat! I guess my biggest problem with DevilDriver is frontman Dez Falafelara. Back when this band first formed, I was dating someone who did their press, and I just remember him being a total period to her. Yes, that’s right — I called Dez bloody discharge.
This, according to a press release: “While many bands in the modern era are already withering away by their second album and have shriveled up and died by their third, DevilDriver have proven to mutate, growing stronger, deadlier and more immortal with each successive release.” Wow. Just wow. Dez says it’s the band’s most “extreme” to date, the press release goes on. I hope that’s a spelling mistake, and that it’s the band’s most “Extreme” to date. They’re going Nuno, baby!
One song on the album is called “Shitlist.” Here’s to hoping I just made Dez’s.
