Devin Townsend Announces Release Date For Ghost, Deconstruction

Devin the Omniscient

On June 20, Devin Townsend will release the one-two punch that is his forthcoming LPs Ghost and Deconstruction [Edit: Seeing as most albums drop on Tuesday in the states, June 20 may be the international release date; safe to assume June 21 is the U.S. release date but that hasn’t been officially announced].

“Looks like the release date for Deconstruction and Ghost is June 20,” Devin said in a message on Facebook. “Info on special pre-sale stuff soon. Thanks for the support!!!”

For months now, Townsend has been toiling away in the studio, working on both efforts. Ghost will be more of a new age metal classic, while Deconstruction will be the antithesis of its counterpart; a heavy-as-Billy-Milano album that will likely feature guest vocals from a bevy of heavy metal’s frontman elite: Cynic’s Paul Masvidal, Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato, Gojira’s Joe Duplantier, Between The Buried and Me’s Tommy Rogers, Gwar’s Oderus Urungus, and Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt.

I can not wait for June 20. Actually, I am guessing sites like mine will get access to both records well before…like in late April or early May. Once we hear them, we’ll let you know how awesome they are. Hopefully, Devin will even let us debut a track. That would be rad. And yes, that was a hint.
