I love Devin Townsend and I love his Facebook. Dude is always on there, talking about his next projects. Like the forthcoming Ghost, which will be a lighter, ethereal affair, and Deconstruction, which Hevy Devy promises will be one of the heaviest records he’s ever released, and he’s released some fucking heavy ones.
His most recent Facebook mutterings reveal he’s hard at work on both LPs at this very moment, and that Soilwork’s Dirk Verbeuren will be playing drums on Deconstruction. In the past, Devin has hinted that Deconstruction would host a who’s who of heavy metal on vocals. That’s the news I am waiting for, people.
Townsend says Ghost “is the mellowest (by far)” of the four albums he’s releasing under the Devin Townsend Project moniker “and prettiest record I’ve done so far” with a “very wonderful vibe.” The album should be released in April 2011 as will Deconstruction, which Townsend describes as a “shitstorm.” He adds: “I contacted dozens of drummers to work on Deconstruction, but the reality of the budgets became apparent very quick.” Devin Townsend Band drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen will also be playing on the disc.
