Not only does Devin Townsend have two albums coming out this spring — the chilled-out Ghost and the frantic, frenzied metal fuckfest Deconstruction — but the dude’s just revealed that this June, he will be hitting the road for a U.S. tour with Children of Bodom.
Those dates are still not available, but more news about Devin is. The other day, Townsend revealed that he will be filming two of his November U.K. gigs for a special live DVD he will be releasing. I usually hate live DVDs, but how could Devy’s be shitty? It just couldn’t be and hence, I am super psyched.
“Hey all! So this intense period of time that has resulted in the [four] albums of the DTP, as well as a new band, and a bevy of other things is cresting at the end of this year in some VERY special shows,” Devin writes. “I will be performing each album in its entirety for a DVD as well as album release to coincide with the box set.”
The head of my donger’s about to burst off from sheer fucking excitement. Do you know how hard it is to use a laptop right now, and still, I pound away at the keys, to get you this news.
“These shows are very exclusive and will be held in special venues in the U.K., and seating will be limited. The tickets will go on sale soon and it’s best to reserve if you want to be a part of this… I have been planning these shows with the new management and we believe that this year will end in some pretty special ways, preparations have begun now, and we would love you to be a part of it.”
The first two shows will happen on November 10 at Union Chapel in London. First, the band will tackle Ki, after which they will take on Ghost, which makes sense. Those two albums are the most alike in sound.
