Devin Townsend must’ve gotten the go-ahead from the label folks yesterday to tell all about his forthcoming new albums, because he did tell all on Twitter about the new Ziltoid the Omniscent and Devin Townsend Project releases.

The DTP disc will be called Sky Blue, it seems, and the second Ziltoid carries the title Dark Matters.

Both should surface in late October. I can’t fucking wait. The riff nerd in me is amped.

Oh, and the new albums will boast Anneke van Giersbergen, who is no stranger to Devin fans.

Stolen Babies frontwoman Dominique Lenore Persi will guests as the “War Princess,” Devin explains, while pro-wrestler and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho appears as “Captain Spectacular.”

Oh, dude. That bums me out. Chris Jericho? And Devin? TOGETHER? That sort of legitimizes Chris, which shouldn’t happen.

He’s a wrestler, people. And Fozzy’s piss-poor.

Anyways, offers Devin:

“I’m a little tired of everything being so intense all the time. I wanted to make something big, shiny, fun and awesome for people. In a sense, Casualties Of Cool was my ‘Art Film’ and Z2 is my Hollywood ‘blockbuster.’ I’ve not worked harder on anything. It’s really cool.”
