You’ve got to love Canada and Canadians.
They know what’s up. If only I had the balls to move there. I’m sure I’d be a much happier individual.
But enough about me and more praise for Canada.
Canada is great, and I’m hoping the United States’ Grammys take a cue from the Juno Awards.
The Grammys should adopt whatever method the Junos employ to pick award nominees, because the Junos tend to get it right.
This year’s award for “Metal or Hard Music Album of the Year” was announced last evening, and Devin Townsend — a man whose work I adore, but a dude who has dipped somewhat on my awesome scale since this debacle — took home the prize.
Townsend’s Z² bested albums by the likes of Kataklysm, Shooting Guns, Single Mothers and Skull Fist.
Much like the Grammys, the Junos dish out the prize for anything metal-related ahead of the actual televised show, which happens live at the actual ceremony this evening.
Congrats, Devin. It still would have been cool if you had linked to my site instead of some fucking corporate British metal site when you debuted your video with us, but whatever. I will get over that eventually.
