Henrik Ostergaard, the lead singer for the 1980s metal band Dirty Looks, died this morning (January 27) at 9:18 a.m. Literally hours ago the man was breathing, and now, he’s not.
The cause of death at this time is unknown, pending the results of an autopsy, according to Bravewords.
“The rock world will sadly mourn the loss of this 80’s hard rocker,” reads Dirty Looks’ site. Ostergaard, who was of Danish descent, lived in Erie, Pennsylvania, and started the band in 1985.
“Three independent albums and an EP would soon follow, which led to Dirty Looks getting signed by Atlantic Records,” the site says. “Later in Henrik’s career, he would be signed to Sony Records and most recently, FnA Records where he released a new album, I.C.U., in 2010. Ostergaard is survived by his two children, Henrik Jr. and Elliot.”
That sucks. Can’t say I was ever a fan of this band, but whenever a metal dude dies, it’s a sad, sad day. Rest in peace, Henrik.
