Think its tough growing up with a name like Doogie?
I feel like it’s gotta be.
Doogie White, known for his work with Rainbow and others, has teamed up with Dio and Heaven & Hell drummer Vinny Appice and Thin Lizzy bassist Marco Mendoza in a new project.
It has no formal name yet, but boasts 15-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera.
Yup. He’s only 15, and in a band already. Say “Hello” to Pussycity while you’re there, Iggy.
The band’s first music will surface this spring.
The idea to record an album together came after Thin Lizzy’s concert in Poland.
Mendoza — impressed with Iggy, who opened for the band — suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the above-mentioned project, which is recording a brand new album with Iggy.
Appice and Mendoza have already tracked bass and drum tracks for the album in Los Angeles.
At the end of November, White will record his vocals and the album will be mixed before Christmas for an early 2014 release.
