I don’t know why. Someone paid good money for that nomination. He had to have known about it.
I’m kidding. The Grammys are totally legit. Seriously.
Some Web site recently spoke with Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie about being nominated, and he was “taken aback.”
“It’s the feather in our cap to be in that category with those nominees,” said LaBrie, of being in the same category as Megadeth and fucking Sum 41. A real honor.
“I was really taken aback. I just never thought that it was in the cards for us because our music tends to be left wing — it’s not your typical music, [but] it’s an amazing feeling and we’re hoping for the best possible result and that is to win it.”
Oh, would that be the best possible outcome? Ya think? I have a feeling this man is dense beyond words. In fact, I’m sure of it, dude.
“It will be an educational process for a lot of people who are going to ask, ‘Who are these guys?’ We’ve sold 12 million albums, but there are still a lot of people who don’t know we exist because we’re not the typical band that’s on radio, MTV or MuchMusic.”
Those channels don’t play music anymore dudes, and no one listens to commercial radio. Not by choice.
