So, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver has this other band called Loaded. You probably already knew that. But did you know the band has a new album coming out on April 19? Bet you didn’t.
That album was originally titled The Soundtrack, which is OK, as far as album titles go. Nothing stupendous. I guess the guys realized that the title was weak after some consideration, because they’ve since changed the name of the disc. It is now called The Taking, which isn’t much better, as titles go.
The CD was recorded at a Seattle-area studio with veteran rock producer Terry Date — known for his work with the Deftones and Pantera. Right now, two tracks from the record are available on digital service providers.
One is called “We Win,” which was played during the World Series and riled up football fans for McKagan’s hometown Seattle Seahawks, while another’s called “Fight On;” sales from the latter go exclusively to help military veterans.
In related news, the band’s new label, Eagle Rock Entertainment, will re-release Loaded’s 2009 album Sick in May with a bonus DVD, featuring 11 tracks from a live set at The Garage in Glasgow filmed in December 2008.
