I usually don’t cover Amy Lee or Evanescence because, well, the band’s not metal and really, I’d rather not have their fans checking out my site.
Traffic’s traffic, but I don’t need lame-asses worshipping my shit.
But this lawsuit’s kind of too big to ignore.
TMZ.com are reporting that Evanescence singer Amy Lee has filed suit against her longtime label home Wind-Up Records.
The report claims the suit alleges Wind-Up failed the band by, in the site’s verbiage, “replacing its promoters with a bunch of idiots who ended up torpedoing the group with lame ideas.”
The suit further seeks $1.5 million in unpaid royalties from the label.
All I can say is I know some of the people who worked at the label and helped promote Evanescence’s albums, and they were capable folks.
This will be a tough case to prove, Amy. Good luck, though.
