Drummer Nicholas Barker, known for his work with the likes of Lock Up, Brujeria, Dimmu Borgir, and Cradle of Filth, has announced he will be taking part in a unique musical collaboration in Berwick upon Tweed early next month.
Members of the Berwick RBL and Eyemouth RBLS pipe bands will perform a selection of traditional piping songs, played along to Barker’s intimidating extreme metal drum beats.
This performance will take place in the Henry Travers Studio at The Maltings Theatre and Cinema on Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m sharp.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. Only, I don’t know how one goes about getting tickets.
This collaboration is part of a project, “Metal Militia,” by artist S Mark Gubb, part of the Gymnasium Gallery programme for Berwick Visual Arts.
The one-off live performance will be filmed to be included at a later date in the Gymnasium Gallery as part of the “Metal Militia” exhibition.
